CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by religious groups, businesses, schools and others to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world. John Wesley’s Wesleyan Sunday School Class is a sponsor of the Hagerstown CROP walk.
The CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Hunger Walk raises money for Church World Service, which is an ecumenical Christian organization providing drinking wells, farming and irrigation assistance, education and vocational training and humanitarian aid all around the globe, including the United States. Held at Fairgrounds Park, the local walk features praise bands, apples, chips and snacks and plenty of water for walkers plus activities designed to educate about the effects of hunger.
